Reopening Guidelines

Dear PEGTV Independent Producers,

We hope each of you has been staying healthy and trying to make the best of these unprecedented times.  As you may be aware, Vermont Governor Phil Scott has extended Vermont’s state of emergency due to the new coronavirus pandemic until June 15th. At the same time, the requirements of the “Stay Home, Stay Safe” order are being relaxed a bit to allow businesses, including PEGTV, to resume some services.

Effective May 18, 2020, this is how we will be handling our day to day operations as it pertains to the public and in particular: studio talk shows, cooking programs, and editing.  The front lobby entrance will not be accessible to the general public.  Each side of our building (located left and right of front parking lot) have doors that will be clearly marked for entering.  Everyone is required to wear a mask upon entering the building.  Those doing kitchen programs will enter on the far right side of the building toward the back.  Those doing talk shows will enter on the left side of the building.  We are requesting that host and or guest(s) arrive, shoot, and leave through the appropriate doors promptly.

1)     Only two studio shoots total will be scheduled per day (includes talk show studio & kitchen).  By appointment only, (no walk-ins) studio hours will be Monday through Thursday 9am to 5pm and Friday 9am to 2pm.   The first appointment gets to pick which side of the studio they want to use (Blue curtain – Left) or  (custom studio set – Right).   This means, the second appointment of the day will be assigned to the set not previously used that day.  This will cut down on any possible germ transmission and provide ample time to clean the space.  If you have a preference for one side of the room and it is already booked, you will need to pick another day that is open.

2)     Until further notice, the talk show studio will have a two person limit (including host).    Unfortunately, there will need to be a one person limit in the kitchen as we are unable to accommodate spacing of 6 feet apart for interactions and working around the stove.

3)     Each host/guest will be responsible for attaching their own microphones.  Staff will assist with aligning cameras, checking sound, etc. (keeping appropriate distance).  It is encouraged everyone wear masks until just before recording time.

4)     For those doing cooking shows, all supplies need to be brought in through the back kitchen door and out that way as well.  The producer must take everything with them. No items are to be left behind in the refrigerator.

5)     We do not have a daily cleaning crew on site.  Although our bathroom can be used if absolutely necessary, we are encouraging the public to use your own bathroom before arriving at PEGTV.

6)     Until further notice, no editing appointments are being accepted due to social distancing concerns. Staff will manage all postproduction, if necessary.

7)     For all trained independent producers looking to sign out equipment, we will review this on a case by case basis.  Proper cleaning and sanitizing of the equipment is our main concern.

Keep in mind these precautions can be updated and change at any time as conditions warrant.  Don’t hesitate to call or email if you have any questions regarding these procedures. We appreciate your attention to these guidelines and look forward to slowing moving back into what we enjoy doing here at PEGTV…making great local television!

Regards,

Chris
