Courcelle Scholarship Winners Announced

Two Rutland county seniors awarded $2000 from PEGTV

 

Rutland, Vermont. Claire DiIonno of Wallingford and Brianna Barker of West Rutland are this year’s recipients of the eighteenth annual Courcelle scholarships awarded by PEGTV. Each received $2000 to pursue a post-secondary education in the visual arts field.

Claire DiIonno is a senior at Mount Saint Joseph Academy and plans to study graphic design while attending Merrimack College in the fall. Claire is the daughter of Paul DiIonno III and Kelly DiIonno.

Brianna Barker is a senior at Mill River Union High School and a member of the Stafford Technical Center Digital Arts Program. Brianna has spent the last year working towards her goal of becoming a professional photographer. She plans to attend New Hampshire Institute of Art in the fall. Brianna is he daughter of Jenn Barker and Keith Barker.

Two Rutland county high school seniors are awarded the annual Courcelle Scholarships, in the amount of $2000 each, for exhibiting a high level of proficiency and interest in the visual and media arts. The scholarship honors the memory of Joe Courcelle for his pioneering work for local public access television. Joe Courcelle was an active member of the original board of directors, a dedicated independent producer and an integral part of the establishment of Rutland’s PEGTV.
