The Rutland County Pride Festival is an annual, family-friendly event in downtown Rutland, Vermont, that celebrates the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and its allies with music, drag performances, vendors, and food. The 2026 festival, hosted by the Rutland County Pride Center, took place on Saturday, June 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m..

“THE VERMONT STATE FAIR: A TRADITION IN TIME”

For nearly two centuries, the Vermont State Fair has been a cherished part of life in Rutland and throughout Vermont. What began in 1846 as a one-day agricultural gathering grew into one of the oldest and most enduring state fairs in America.

Join us on a journey through the history of the Vermont State Fair, from its earliest days of livestock exhibitions and horse racing to midway lights, grandstand entertainment, concerts, community traditions, and generations of memories.

Through archival photographs, historic film footage, newspaper accounts, and community stories, this documentary explores how the fair evolved alongside Vermont itself while surviving fires, wars, economic challenges, and changing times.

More than the story of a fair, this is the story of the people who kept the tradition alive for nearly 180 years.

Brandon - A Hub and Our Home - May 27, 2026

During this session, participants will discuss and vote for community priorities that will improve the future of their town. Thanks to support from PEGTV, the meeting will be fully hybrid, allowing those unable to attend in person to join online and participate in real time.

This event builds on the strong turnout at the kickoff event in April. Through community forums, online and paper surveys, and two youth sessions, over 150 residents have shared ideas for the future of Brandon. The May 27 meeting will begin with a visioning exercise before participants review the full list of ideas generated by community members. Through discussion and dot-voting, the community will select the top priorities to move forward.
